How to sign for service
To start your gas or electric service, call us at 508-947-1371 or drop by our office at 32 South Main St., Middleborough. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
All customers must complete and sign a residential service application or a commercial service application either by mail, fax or in person at our office. In addition to your signature, you will need to provide your Social Security number and a driver's license or photo i.d.
NOTICE: Due to the lack of natural gas capacity in the region, MGED will not be able to open new natural gas service requests as of February 13, 2019. Customers can make improvements to their existing gas service (i.e. replace a gas furnace, gas stove, or gas hot water heater), so long as the load profile for their home does not increase and the service was actively consuming gas before the moratorium. Expansion of service, such as adding a generator or appliance, will be subject to limitations and will be reviewed on a case by case basis. This review process will allow us to continue to safely and reliably serve existing natural gas customers in Middleborough.
If you are interested in new natural gas service when it becomes available, use this form. MGED will review new service interest and requests as soon as the capacity issue is adequately addressed.
Buying a home? Please sign up at least three working days before the closing so that we can create a final bill for the seller.
